Welcome to Tropic Akitas, located on the western side of Barbados, a small beautiful island in the eastern Caribbean. Tropic Akitas is a small breeding/show kennel, of conformation akitas, striving to improve on our present stock and the breed in a whole - for this is the only reason one should breed pedigree dogs. Our puppies are sold at $1000 US(show puppies), $750 US(pet puppies). Occasionally prices may vary.
We are dedicated to breed high quality dogs, breeding of the best American Akitas of English, American and Canadian pedigrees. In my eyes, the akita is a powerful, intellegent, courageous, beautiful and simple amazing animal; this is why I chose this wonderful, eye catching breed.
My main goal is the to breed excellent akitas, which would be of importance to many breeders and particular lines worldwild. Dogs that we can call "perfect" akitas(though I am well aware this is not possible, as dogs are not made by an artist but but dominant and recessive genes and correct rearing); that have sound temperment, breathtaking conformation and excellent type. To do this I have given myself a simple 3-way mental plan, which is- "DIGILENCE THROUGH PERSEVERANCE TO PERFECTION". This involves studying the akita throughout, learning from when the puppies ears erect, through to the "legends" who made the akita what is is today! Perseverance envolves getting up when you fall and when it seems like all your plans have failed(it happens more than you expect!), perseverance includes faith in your believes, for example- not over populating the akita world; or making sure every litter you breed are for the best intentions. Perfection is the goal every akita conformation breeder dreams of! Breeding that akita, that has no faults, or no flaws, has the correct construction and movement, with that extremely strong pedigree; a dog that produces, great puppies, of wonderful merits in the "dog game"! A dog that has a fabulous temperment, and progency of equally merit. A dog that if you see him sleeping, you can be amazed! A dog that basiccally puts the "show" in "show dog"! This is the akita I am talking about... this is PERFECTION!!
